About Kelly

Let’s be honest.

People come to therapy under so many different circumstances, sometimes willingly, and sometimes begrudgingly. Sometimes people make the decision to start therapy because a family member has asked them to, and sometimes it’s because they’ve finally come to the point of realizing or admitting that what they’ve tried to do to feel better…. just isn’t working.

No matter your circumstances, we will make it work.

As your therapist, I will not judge you. Everyone comes to therapy with a different set of issues, and for different sets of reasons. We’ll work as a team to find the best, right answer for you. I’ll be with you every step of the way, to be your advocate, a teacher, a teammate, and to be a listener. Together, we will course-correct what's happened in your life, and get you back to living on your terms.

I've been an EMT since 2003, starting as a volunteer, and I was active in commercial EMS up until 2012. I’ve done the 8 hour shifts with 14 calls, heard the cries you can’t un-hear, worked homicides and suicides, done the 3am calls for the itchy mosquito bite and tooth pain that started 3 weeks ago, and held hands of strangers as they navigated their most frightening moments and their most joyful moments.

Currently, I'm the only licensed therapist in Connecticut who has a background in commercial EMS, and I’ve been a licensed social worker for over 14 years. I specialize in PTSD in EMS personnel and other first responders.

In short - I get it. Public safety isn't just a job; it becomes a complete lifestyle, with its own community, set of expectations, and rules to play by. It influences your mindset, perspective, and the choices you make as you move through the world, along with so many other things. I know this, because I lived it. Because of my background in EMS, you don't have to explain 'the job' to me, and I'm able to relate to what the stress and anxiety feel like of having to constantly be 'on,' when all you want is a break. I was also married to a Paramedic, so I’m able to offer an additional unique perspective of what it is to be an ‘EMS spouse.’

Benefits, Hope, and Help

If being strong all the time has left you exhausted, therapy can help by:

  • teaching you how to manage work related anxiety in healthier, sustainable ways

  • improve mental and physical wellness

  • sleep better

  • recover from trauma

  • improve relationships

  • feel more confident that you can manage whatever happens in your life

A close friend once called me a ‘professional hope dealer.’ I’m here to tell you - if you come ready, willing, and able to look at, and talk about, the hard stuff in life, I know I can help you find your path and build a plan for how to stay on it.

Take the next step. Head over to the Contact page, fill out the form, and I’ll be in touch within 24 hours to schedule your free 30-minute consultation call. These calls are an easy first step in getting to know each other. It's an opportunity for me to find out what's going on in your life, and a chance for you to ask any questions you may have about the process of therapy or what to expect from me.

I'm here for you. Let’s get started.
